I Need an Infrared Sauna

So who wants to buy me one? Seriously. I think it’s do wonders for my back. And I think we all have heard and felt my knee by now.

These things are pretty cool though. I think Erik’s the one who first told me about them. Apparently the infrared part removes toxins that a regular sauna doesn’t get to.  I ended up getting even more info from this  Infrared Sauna site. I didn’t even think about this before, but you can burn 900 calories in 30minutes with these things! i knew regular saunas did a little, but this seems like something I can get behind. I wish my gym had them. I only burn like a third of that on the elliptical machine.

So far infrared saunas seem to be the way to go. I dunno why anyone would buy a regular sauna over this kind. I need money so we can have one :-)

Stem Cells, Ladies?

So, I was reading about stem cells again and this is what I learned today. It’s a wee bit gross but way cool nonetheless. Basically, your menstrual blood can come in handy if you get osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, etc. Why? Because you’ve got stem cells in there! Duh. Pay attention people… it’s in the title.Okay, so I originally thought your stem cells only worked for you, but I was full of fail. Those period cells (as I so childishly like to call them) will work for your kids, parents and siblings. So if they have the degenerative disorders of doom (DDoD) I mentioned above, you can help. There’s this special service called C’elle you can get. You should check the site out for all the super detailed info. They have a kit to buy if you want to get it for me.. hint, hint? Use this special promotion code: 241. If you end up buying, it’ll save you some money. And in case you want to see what people have the kit are saying, check out the C’elle Client Testimonials.

Aren’t you glad I told you? Who loves you?

Survival International

There’s problems here in America. I’m one of the people who believe you have to take care of your own home before you can help fix someone else’s.

Having that said, I am still deeply saddened when I read about tribes of people being harassed and displaced in other countries.  It hurts my heart that people can’t be above the dollar. People care more about money than right and wrong. Forcing people from villages, denying them their basic right to hunt and drink water on their own land is inhumane. But what is humane anyway? Humanity’s been fucked since the bartering system.

So major corporations and governments remove people from land that’s been a part of the tribe for hundreds, if not thousands, or years. They’ve been there since before “the establishment” so I don’t think anyone has a right to make any indigenous tribe relocate. And for what? Diamonds? Gold?

Not only are these companies removing  people from their homes, they’re introducing disease and killing off the natural resources. It’s all for greed. The rich want to get richer. It’s disgusting.

Alternative Energy

“When a meltdown like Three Mile Island scares us blind, creating an apocalyptic mythology about what happened there, we pay for our superstitions with sulfur fumes, global warming, and acid rain—our suicide pact with coal.

And when we fail to consider each of these issues with reason instead of fear, when we fail to make the tough comparison between nuclear power, with its potential for disaster, and coal plants, with their guarantee of it, this isn’t a reflection that we have no choices but that we refuse to make them.”

Birth Defects are Bad

I have to stop reading things. I freak myself out by obsessing over things.

An old friend of mine has a 4 year old daughter with Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum and has had such a hard time since birth. I was just thinking about the friends I know with kids and Felicia’s in the worst spot of them all financially and has this sweet kid with all these problems. It’s just a shame. I just wonder how I’d be able to handle something like that.

This week I didn’t eat enough and I didn’t eat well enough. I had broccoli and tomato pizza and that was pretty much it on Tuesday. All day. Lunch and dinner. I don’t even remember breakfast. Yesterday I ate fairly well. I had mashed potatoes for lunch and barely ate my salmon after asking the lady to pull the smallest piece for me. We went out to dinner and I had salad, filet mignon, mashed taters and broccoli. So that was good.

I just worry that even with the vitamins I won’t have enough nutrients or calories in me to support this parasite inside me (I use the term with affection).  And I know some people are more nauseous than others, but my nausea makes me worry, too. I dunno. It’s all very freaky. I want a happy, healthy baby so I’m trying to be good, but right now I REALLY want coffee ice cream and a #7 from Wendy’s (even though I’ve never finished the fries). I really just want the sandwich. It’s frustrating either way.

Bah.
