Checking In. Yep.

Watching Buffy with my Lacey is good stuff. She’s staying with us this week while my mom is in Georgia. It’s good times. Xavier loves it most.

I’m at the halfway point in my Japanese language course. It’s going well. I suck at katakana, but that quiz is over. I’m getting better at it as we go on. My hiragana is great, so that’s noproblem. We get on with the kanji next week. Urasai! The radicals and all will make me nuts. Luckily, I already know a bit. I just get jumbled up when looking at a paragraph or whole page of it. I’m studying it early to get a head start. Going line by line helps. Hooray for particles being in hiragana.

Anyway, back to Buffy.

The WORLD (of warcraft)

So uh yeah. Every day, I get really excited to play when I see Xavier’s eyelids get heavy. But now, I have even more reason to play. My friend Krystyn made a char/toon for my server. Woo hoo! I’m in the happy.

Back to Blogging

I’m trying people. Really, I am.

As I sit and type, Xavier is watching First Signs and bouncing happily. His smile comes and goes at his favorite parts. When he doesn’t love a scen, he spins the toys on his bouncer and listens for a familiar scene he does like. It’s wonderful. I love that he notices audio cues. I love knowing he has preferrences for something other than food. It’s great!

Yesterday was technically my first mama’s day. El Dia de Madre. Yay. Erik, I mean Xavier, got me a digital photo frame. It’s a big ‘un, too. It makes me happy. The thing has tons of features and I can watch videos on it or add music. I just love the thing.

I just posted my RPGLife play-by-post update. I like how the storyline is progressing. Crippled Planet is fun to play despite being slow. I can’t complain too much. At least it’s good writing practice. I’m not in total control which is challenging– which is good.

Speaking of writing, I got an A on my final paper and a B in the class overall. English Composition is the class I’m talking about. I should have said that first. My next courses, Psych and Japanese, start next week. I take Psych online, but go to campus for the Japanese class. So far there are only 13 other people registered. Hopefully it doesn’t get canceled at the last minute. The professor hasn’t responded to my effin email, nor has she sent the syllabus. I’m concerned. I’ve been looking forward to this class for months.  Wish me luck.

And that’s all for now. I will try to update at least every other day. It’s a frivolous personal goal I suppose.

MMORPG Stuff

So I tried Warhammer Online and that was just way too choppy on my PC– Even after a RAM upgrade. This sucks because

  • Once I got used to the fighting system, I liked it.
  • I love the graphics/art design
  • I had someone to play with!

So when that was full of fail, I was already sick with the role-playing bug. So I tried Guild Wars. That game is lovely. I like it a bunch and the lack of a monthly fee is appealing. The artwork is lovely and yes, finally, I was able to make a brown-skinned character– with white hair! The questing is fine and so is the fight system. It’s very much like WAR in some ways.

World of Warcraft. First off. I don’t love the graphics. They’re often way to bright and colourful for my tastes. I can live with it though. It also sucks that the char’s faces and bodies are cartoony.  The interface is also a lot like WAR, as is the Side A vs Side B set up. I like that there are RP, PVP, Normal and RPPVP servers. I stick to the RP and RPPVP servers- yet good roleplay is hard to find. I need a guild of RPers.

So I’m stuck between GW and WOW, but right now WOW is winning (despite the graphics).

writing dot com

I logged in again today for the first time since late January. I uploaded one of my essays for class. I think I’ll be adding more as class goes on. It’s good to get feedback… from strangers who are more constructive than coddling. For some reason, I can’t stand letting people I know reading the things I write. It makes me too jittery r whatever. Bah.

Now I must get on with my essay on the genius that is Joss Whedon.
