Personal Assignments

I’ve decided to give myself something constructive to do that doesn’t involve picking up my wiimote.

I’ve created the /writing  directory on my site so I can start working on the stories I’ve abandoned. This should be good for my soul. I’ve got a lot of stuff in my head to sort out and make readable. It could be fun to do a children’s book. I could make crappy drawings and stuff. Then I’d scan it and put it online to archive for the SOB.

By putting my writing on my own site (instead of updating my writing.com account), I’ll also be forced to do some coding as a side-effect. This will be good for my noggin.

I’m not gonna rush it, but it’s started already. Now… where’s my perseverance?

Some Updatin fo’ Ya

I haven’t heard this song in ages.
NCC- “Seven Steps of Nervousness”

It just popped up on the Archos and I was gettin my lil groove on at work. It make me crack up laughing. This little gizmo is great because it’s really just a hard drive with headphones that’s pretty small. See:

Archos1Archos2

The thing is built solid as a rock and is small enough to make life happy. When it first came out, that was a huge selling point. It was special because it was 20GB wrapped in 2″ x 3″ of metallic goodness with an internal battery. I’ve never tried the jpeg viewing, but the audio/file browser system is nice and easy. The village idiot could use this thing. The only downside is that there’s no USB charging. Ah well.

As much as the Archos rocks, I want a Zune hardcore. The iPhone can ctrl+alt+del itself for all I care (when it comes to getting the Zune). I wanna trade songs and pr0n wif mah babay. Even though I’m the pr0naholic of the relationship, but you get me.

In other news, I have to exchange my backdrop holder to Adorama because it went fubar. That’s lame. It’ll take a week or two to go through the whole process. I’d rather drive to NYC and exchange in person! Roadtrip!!! Then I’ll buy the lighting kit and life will be groovy!

And high five for having more income to get better gear and hopefully be closer to publishing a photo book (more on that later since I don’t think I’ve blogged about it).

[EDIT] Curious about Archos? Here’s a list of many products with prices and ratings. Viva la Archos!

Pedalboard Adventure

So off and on this morning I’ve been peeking at things to buy over time. The first things I’m getting are a pedalboard and an overdrive for my bass. These are affordable things that will benefit me right now.  I got a message from someone about my old CL ad for  music stuff and it made me smile. I’m happy to be playing again. Much like teh secks, music is better with a friend than alone.  I messaged Britt about when she’s able to get together aside from rehearsal. I figure bass and drums are good pairings for workin out some rhythm ideas. It should make things easier.  I like being motivated.

And I haven’t forgotten about photography, either! I plan to shoot bands as I go along and I just spoke to Ali about her photo shoot. I think it’s good to hold off til  January because I’m doing production stills for a music video Ariella is directing. Plus I figure that could lead into me doing photos of that group at a later time for $$$.

So I’ve got a plan or two. One thing motivates me to do another and it makes me feel good. Also, the goal of being on stage pushes the goal of losing weight. At work I’m a LOT better than I used to be (when I got off Weight Watchers), and I’m back to eating lighter. I also walk around & climb stairs more. It’s good.

Lalala the end!

It’s Time

I think it’s about time they made one for MonoKuroBoo. I need an MKB baass, but for now, Badtz Maru would do.

I think it’s safe to say I will have this bass. It’s only natural. Then I’ll get a candy apple OLP.  But that can wait a long while.

The Future is Badtz.
The Future is NOW.
