Update
April 13, 2011 by Avy.
Work is STILL nuts. It’ll never stop being nuts.
I’m moving to my new office tomorrow.
My back hurts like whoa.
Pushy little children with their fully automatics. They like to push the weak around.
I’m about to leave and join Planet Fitness with Angel.
Belly dancing is love. We have haflas to plan for, performances to see, and workshops to attend. Time to kick up the cardio a few notches.
Tinks!

It’s me and my troupe. Woo hoo. Just me and troupe. Just me and troupe. Just me and troupe.
( I was channeling Tupac there. Sorry.)
Anyway, we have to get our arses in gear with choreography. There’s a hafla coming up and the one newest sloooooow song is in dire need of moves.
Oh AND we’re seeing Beats Antique on 4/20– which is AWESOME because our first piece ever was/is to their song, “Beauty Beats.”
Anyway, this is us. Belly dancing is love… and weight-loss motivation– even moreso than gyaru fashion.

Woo hoo
March 21, 2011 by Avy.
I had a busy bear weekend. Friday night was full of dance gaming to burn off the BBQ noms my aunt and cousins made. I chose to forgo the BBQ sauce to avoid even more fat and calories.
Saturday, we all went to the beach. By all, I mean me, E, X , and the in-lawws. It was LOVELY and Super Moon looked awesome. I still don’t trust it. Oh well.
Lots of pix were taken. I’ll update with some of them later. I have a last-minute photoshoot on Saturday morning. It’s for my aunt’s BFF. Nerves! It’s also for her album cover. The CD release party is in a month. I figure I’ll go so I can see which photo she chooses. My goal is to give her 10 photos just as I would anyone else on a basic package, but I’m still nervous. On the plus side, she and her fiance both love my portfolio. I’ll just stop being chicken.

Ranting

So I decided to blog about life, not just fashion/make-up/etc, via LiveJournal. Eff that site. There is so much negativity there for me. I just think of years of sickness, lies, etc that I’ve decided to give up on posting there. I’ll still to my own domain. There’s more happy here. I look at LJ and want to kill people. That would be bad.
So here I am. Here I am with a happy thought:
Bowflex session after work today!!!
I’m so excited. I love working out and I’m really proud of myself for sticking with it no matter what. I can’t worry about other peoples’ feelings when it comes to my health and self-esteem.
Let’s face it: I’m not supposed to be fat. I’m too hyper, playfully aggressive, and fashion-loving to be a fat chick. I’m meant to be Xena-sized. That’s me. So this whole sitting around the house after work thing is just not happening anymore. It’s boring and unhealthy. I’m completely committed to challenging myself physically and it’s paying off.
I started getting really serious about this a couple of months ago, but I’ve really kicked things up a notch over the past month. David and I started bowflexing last week and already I notice a change in arm & shoulder strength. It’s nothing major, but it’s there.
My walking buddy disappeared, but Erik’s finally cooperating and we’ve walked together twice. Yesterday’s walk with good, but it was also short. Still, 20 minutes of hills is good.
Anyway, yay fitness. I’ll be ready for the MS Walk in May for sure.

Work it… Work it…
February 17, 2010 by Avy.
I’m getting so much better at belly dancing! Woo hoo. I need to be consistent with exercising and not just dancing, but I’m workin on it! My veil work is sloppy , but my footwork is way better. I’m so proud! I still can’t camelwalk for crap– well technically I can do it until the left leg moves forward. Xavier looks at me like I’m crazy when I do it. He tries to hold onto my legs. Actually, he does that no matter what I’m doing. Kids.
Man, I’m so sleepy. It’s hard out here for a bear.
Oh! It also must go on the record that I’ve been in touch with some friends I hadn’t seen or spoken to in like 6 or 7 years. The first is Chase– this nuggah just fell off the face of the planet. I saw him at David’s birthday party back in November. The next is Ariel. The former BFF and I are on happy terms again as of a couple of months ago. Lastly there’s Lance, Kyle, Angel and David (Bravo). After all the drama with David its surprising that we were able to hang out even in a group situation, but we’ve both grown up. It’s been 7 years and I’d recently decided to be over the craziness anyway. Oddly enough, I’m happy to see everyone, but I’m still cautious. At the same time, it’ll be nice to FINALLY have people who actually want to do the things I’m interested in doing.
