Personal Assignments
March 27, 2008 by Avy.
I’ve decided to give myself something constructive to do that doesn’t involve picking up my wiimote.
I’ve created the /writing directory on my site so I can start working on the stories I’ve abandoned. This should be good for my soul. I’ve got a lot of stuff in my head to sort out and make readable. It could be fun to do a children’s book. I could make crappy drawings and stuff. Then I’d scan it and put it online to archive for the SOB.
By putting my writing on my own site (instead of updating my writing.com account), I’ll also be forced to do some coding as a side-effect. This will be good for my noggin.
I’m not gonna rush it, but it’s started already. Now… where’s my perseverance?

10 Random Thoughts
March 25, 2008 by Avy.
I try to do these like once a month. They’re also good for the soul.
- If it’s not one bitch it’s another
- “Keep on skankin Ronny. Skank the night away.” [ref: Sublime]
- Ew. I just ate a bad grape.
- I can’t wait to get this kid out so I can get back to losing weight.
- Why are y’all so effin stupid [ref: my older coworkers]
- “Put yer mind to it. Go for it — you gotta break a sweat. Rock and Roll– you ain’t seen nothin yet.” [ref: the episode of Saved by the Bell where the girls make a workout music video and Jessie’s doing speed]
- I really need to lose like 100 pounds ASAP.
- Is is 5 o’clock yet?
- I get to swim on Thursday. Lalala lala la.
- “After these messages we’ll be… riiiiiight back!” [duh]

Blogging
March 25, 2008 by Avy.
It just dawned on me that I spend a considerable chunk of my day blogging when you add it all up. Granted sometimes it takes hours to remember to click ‘post’ at times, it’s still a lot of time/thought/energy spent purging the brain via technology. A blog is a terrible thing to waste. I think blogging is good for the soul. People are overrated. Keyboards and mice are where it’s at!
(mmhmm das rite)
I would just like to thank the inventor of teh internet journal. You are truly remarkable. That first chunk of code has spread into a full-fledged virus and I does no needs a cure. Do Not Want!
That is all.

On Point!
March 20, 2008 by Avy.
“You’ll be feeling sharp and ready to handle all your commitments with an effervescent zeal today! A lesser being would find all the details you’ll be dealing with too overwhelming, but not you — you’ll feed off the pressure and use your resulting adrenaline to speed through the day like a whirling dervish of a tap dancer. To you, organizing the chaos around you isn’t a chore — it’s a puzzle to be solved. Tackling it all will bring you a lot of joy and satisfaction.”
My horroscope for today is pretty accurate!
In other news, some of these old biznitched in my office are just plain stupid.
Lady A: Do you know how to forward a [voicemail] message?
Lady B: I dunno. Is it ‘7′?
Lady A: How would I know?!
Me: (internally) RTFM dumbass
Me: (audibly) The service tells you what to push at the end of the message.
[silence]
Effin morons.

Pagan Parenting
March 14, 2008 by Avy.
Something about being pregnant is making me want to be all that I can be [as a pagan mommy]. It’s kinda funny. It’s like I want to be about to articulate my beliefs to the Smallest of Bears so (s)he can know a thing or two about nature in not just a scientific way.
I feel more motivated to celebrate the sabbats and meditate when I have alone time. Ostara is next Thursday and I’m pretty much ready for it mentally.I was originally going to try going to an open circle to get used to working with other people, but now I’m not so sure.
As a Wiccan it’s bad for me to say it, but so many of “my people” are either just plain creepy or annoying. I’m starting to think maybe it’s me >_<
Just kidding, but seriously, I give up.
So I’m trying to read something pagany everyday. So far so good. I figure if I’m reading it, I can pass the positive vibes to the SOB. This should suffice until a few weeks from now when (s)he’ll be able to hear things outside the womb. Then I can play audiobooks and meditation music. Celtic Solstice is great. It’s one of the few CDs I ever liked enough to buy.
I’m pretty sure I can ramble on and on, so I’ll just stop now.
Bye.
