Tourists for teh Secks
November 27, 2007 by Avy.
This story from Reuters makes me laugh.
Long story short: Old white women travel to Kenya for young African men to give the wine-dine-69 treatment. The local tourism board hates it. The ladies don’t see the big deal.
This is nothing new. Men have done it for ages and women are doing it more these days. Now if some poor guy wants to live like a rich man for 2 weeks and his cost is good company and probably secks, go right ahead. Both parties know what the situation is. At least Kenya’s a poor country. In the US, people do it, knowing full well they could work if they tried. Either way. No one’s being manipulated. It’s all consentual. I don’t see the problem. It’s a bit sad, but hey– he’s poor and she’s lonely. Individually they’re sad, but together they’re a well oiled machine.
In other news: I’m reading a trashy soap operaesque book called The Love Machine by Jacqueline Susann and boy is it addictive ^_^ The thing is predictable, trite… just overall bad. Yet it’s enjoyable. I don’t get it. I’m halfway through it already. It’s fun to read about high society in the 60’s though.
