Body Talk with Avalicious
November 7, 2007 by Avy.
“How much weight should I lose?
Ideally, you should lose enough weight to place you in the adequate weight range on the BMI chart, which is a BMI of 19 - 24.9. For example, for a 5′5″ tall person, the adequate range is 114 - 144 pounds. The range account for differences in gender, frame size and muscle mass. In general, small-boned Asian and some Caucasian women should aim for the bottom of the range, while men and some large-boned and African people are better placed at the top of the range. Considerable variation exists among individuals regardless of race.
The rate at which weight should be lost is another issue. An average loss of 0.5 to 2 pounds per week is the clinical guideline to be compatible with good health. Health professionals measure success as a loss of 10% of body weight over six months.”
I think I agree with this. I was at the gym last night and one of my 2 thinspirations were there. This grrl was my healthy xena-like thinspiration (XLT), the other is really thin like a ballerina–all muscle (BT). Both girls are my height (6ft) but seem taller to me because they’re thinner.
So anyway, I was workin my arms hardcore and feelin tough when my XLT came over and did the should machine that kicked my booty before. In the past, I’d have been a little bummed out. Lately I notice I’m more motivated than envious.
Oh!!! randomness time kinda… My BT reminds me of Peta Wilson with tattoos. She makes me blush and I don’t even like blondes. haha I told Megs I wanna lock BT in a closet so she, Erik and I can read our books. That grrl need to be mah friend but we only see each other when I’m coming and she’s going, but mostly not much at all.
Oh yeah, but anyway. I feel good that I’m becoming more and more motivated. I’m not so much comfortable in my own skin as I’m motivated to change. Not to get too ahead of myself, but even though my fatness repulses me, I’m not getting depressed and angry and crying in the potty anymore. I think I’m getting better. So yay for me.

That’s all I’ve got for now.
Praise be to Ceiling Cat.
